I was eating brunch,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">was mid-sip of my mimosa.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Quiche doesn&#8217;t require a 9mm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I was steps from the door when my phone<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">rang for the third time. I finally answered<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">but my boss cut me off, <em>Stay away<\/em>,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>there&#8217;s a shooter<\/em>. I spent the day glued<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">to the TV as colleagues were gunned down.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">When we were allowed to return to work<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">they brought in grief counselors. I screamed<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">at her, <em>There&#8217;s nowhere safe!<\/em> She said nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There&#8217;s a mountain in Hawaii I liked to hike, the teal<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">ocean crushing the sand in a passionate embrace<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">from my high viewpoint. Next to the trail, a gun<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">range. The first time I heard the crack of a shot<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">I dropped to the ground, curled my body<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">into a tight comma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Houston. Miami. Dayton. Boston. Sandy Hook.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">55 dead. 13 dead. 9 dead. 48 dead.
