i am gathering up a jury of dead things;<\/span><\/p>\n

some you killed and<\/span><\/p>\n

some that died to make room for you.<\/span><\/p>\n

those dead things, they lie cold and speak\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

every ghost rises up to testify against you.<\/span><\/p>\n

but i won\u2019t hear the voices of the standing dead\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

i reject the testimony from the grave,<\/span><\/p>\n

i deny the boundtotruth witnessing of bones.<\/span><\/p>\n

i believe only the assessments of living things;<\/span><\/p>\n

biased fallible selfish distracted<\/span><\/p>\n

they stand breathing, warm and inferior,<\/span><\/p>\n

without complete access to the information<\/span><\/p>\n

measuring out an opinion without knowing<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> What Happened;<\/span><\/p>\n

delivering, alive, a frail and rosy verdict.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> only the dead speak the truth,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> but much too quiet,<\/span><\/p>\n
