Inspiration for this section came from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The canopy of a sequoia during the logging boom.<\/li>\n<li>A tree sacrificed in an aborigine prescription fire.<\/li>\n<li>The Goethe\u2019s Oak that stood just outside the fence of the Auschwitz Birkenau camp.<\/li>\n<li>The oak you would climb as a child.<\/li>\n<li>The bark of the paper birch during a forest fire.<\/li>\n<li>Jozef the Oak who hid two boys from the Nazi officers.<\/li>\n<li>The pine in your yard that housed a hummingbird nest during a stronger than usual windstorm.<\/li>\n<li>The pine of Bly, Oregon who holds shrapnel from a Japanese balloon bomb.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This section is open to visual art as well as poetry and prose of any form. Previously published and simultaneous submissions welcomed.
