Line Rider Press is pleased to announce the official launch of our sister publication Headline Poetry. Headline Poetry is a quick turn around, current event focused electronic poetry publication supported by Line Rider Press. Headline aligns with Line Rider’s mission to publish working-class writing that emphasizes accessibility and radical social critiques of contemporary capitalist society.

Headline Poetry is headed by the amazing poet/editor Hokis (aka Jill). You can also connect with Headline on twitter @headlinepoets

Submissions are now open for any one of the newspaper’s sections!

#poetsfortherevolution
We seek work from satirical to sincere. The form of the poem is of less importance than the precision and shimmer of the language and imagery. We want to publish what is important today (quite literally TODAY), without losing track of the origins, perils, and progress that created the current political landscape.

still i rise crossword
A paring of clues and meanings that connects past and current events. Feel free to offer a single clue/answer from today’s headlines, or twenty so we can make an entire puzzle!

street workers’ report
A highlight of an individual or a grassroots organizing effort from anywhere around the country. You are welcome to share something you do, the work of a local organizing group, or a link to a news story.

under the microscope
A section for the precision of micro poetry, non-fiction, and other up close/tight artistic commentary.

rest. {revolt. repeat.}
A nook set aside to keep hope stirring inside. Here you will find art, satire, muckraking cartoons, photography, quotes, and tips to revitalize.
