before anyone used the word science
we called fact-based beliefs ‘natural philosophy’ –
now facts are considered beliefs by those
who do not benefit from them.
do i benefit from us?
what lilies are these? do not lie to me.
i want the species written down on my skin
indelibly.
what is the nature of your love for me?
is it emblazoned with zebras on either side,
like Botswanas heraldry?
are your stripes the same that fly
over this pond, touching down
ever so lightly on the lotus, like this
damselfly? and why does all of the
wondering distress me?
semantics,
kiss your lies all over me.
lust concentrated in my areas of
interest, even if it is ironic or in
bad taste, as in, say camp.
